- Participates in initial examination of obstetrical patients' assigned responsibility for care, treatment, delivery of patients.
- Assist in the delivery and perform post partum examinations and treatments to ensure that patient and infant are responding normally.
- When deviations from standard are encountered during monitoring the labor patient administers stipulated emergency measures and inform obstetrician immediately.
- Actively promotes breastfeeding and assists mothers in reaching their goals for breastfeeding
- Prepares the woman for labor, birth and parenting.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the physiology of labor
- Supervises and assists mothers in labor, monitoring the condition of the fetus and using knowledge of drugs and pain management
- Prepares mothers for cesarean sections as well as assist doctors with the administration of pitocin or other pain medication as per scope for practice.
- Demonstrate competence in Cardiac- Pulmonary Resuscitation.
- Participates in the pre-natal and post-natal teaching on health practices.
- Administer drugs/medications as per doctor's orders.
- Demonstrate competency in any emergency situation.
- Demonstrate awareness of fire/equipment hazards and the necessary precautions to be activated as per hospital policy.
- Maintain all documents of MSDS , HAZMAT in coordination with FMS Team
- Participates in any continuing Education and activities.
- Any other assigned responsibilities on a Ward Basis as identified by the Head Nurse.
- Monitor hospital environment for compliance with Infection Control policy and Procedure.
- Maintain hand hygiene and infection control documents
- Adherent the practice of Prescription Order review.
- Responsible for daily checking of crash carts and emergency equipments as per hospital policy
- Follow the protocol of handover communication during shift change, shifting the patient to other department and diagnostic procedure
- Maintain the cleanliness of department following infection control protocols
- Follow the protocol of patient identification while administering medication , blood transfusion , procedure etc
- To follow appropriate international guidelines, DHA regulations & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing/Diploma in Nursing and or Midwifery.
- Current license in country of origin and with DHA License to practice in Dubai, UAE.
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience in relevant clinical area or has undergone training. BLS Provider.
- Good English - spoken and written. Arabic language is advantageous but not essential.
