- Work in coordination with commissioning engineers and define system /sub system brake down of the project and sent boundaries.
- To coordinate and control all Mechanical Completion activities for multiple projects.
- Plan, sequence and prioritise the activities and resources according to department and project requirements.
- Identify scope of improvements and make necessary amendments in the department procedures and work instructions.
- Promote continues improvement process and ensure quality and safety.
- Develop mechanical completion plan in line with commissioning requirements and overall commissioning plan.
- Assist commissioning engineers and planners to develop pre-commissioning and commissioning planning, generation of commissioning programs and follow up of all jobs related to mechanical completion.
- Co-ordinate with Engineering, owner's representative, trades supervisory staff as well as internally in the department for mechanical completion and preservation activities.
- Prepare database for the entire tags for each discipline and manage the database in the project completion software.
- Issue, update the mechanical completion check sheets, preservation check sheets & punch lists in the system, track them for completion and report generation.
- Inspect and verify installations on-board and make punch lists if any.
- Make the systemisation and boundary mark up for the subsystems for the mechanical completion packages.
- Prepare mechanical completion packages.
- Document complete mechanical completion dossiers which includes (mechanical completion check sheets, preservation records commissioning procedures, punch lists, certificates and P& ID drawings).
- Coordinate and manage warranty activities.
- Implement the day-to-day operations assigned for the department to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures
- Education and knowledge in Mechanical / Electrical, or Marine Engineering is essential.
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Marine Engineering
- 8 years relevant experience in Mechanical completion field including at least 2 years working experience in Shipyard with conversion and new building or major projects.
- Good project management and contract administrative skills.
- Knowledge and experience in Shipyard or a similar facility with MC activities works for conversion and new buildings.
- Good knowledge and experience in different process involved in construction activities and related quality requirements.
- Sound knowledge in MC activities, Certification requirements and regulatory requirements of Marine and Offshore, process and Drilling equipment.
- Familiar with Norsok standards, class rules and ship building standards.
- Strong background with resolution of technical issues during projects planning and execution phases.
- Conversant with permit to work system and lock out tag out system.
