We are supporting a global cross-commodity trading house in their search for a Senior Fertilizer Trader to join their Dubai office. This is a high-impact hire with a mandate to build, scale, and lead a dry fertilizers trading desk, driving P&L growth across international markets.The role offers significant autonomy, with access to capital, infrastructure, and global logistics capabilities, suited to a trader with a proven track record of developing and expanding a profitable dry bulk fertilizers franchise.Key Responsibilities:

Developing and executing trading strategies across dry fertilizers (e.g. urea, DAP/MAP, NPKs, potash)
Building and scaling a profitable trading desk, including strategy, counterparties, and market footprint
Managing and growing a strong and consistent P&L, aligned with risk parameters (VaR / limits)
Establishing and expanding relationships with producers, distributors, and end-users globally
Identifying arbitrage opportunities across regions, logistics chains, and pricing structures
Working closely with shipping, operations, and finance teams to optimise execution and margins
Contributing to the broader commercial strategy of the trading platform
Hiring, mentoring, and developing junior traders as the desk grows

Candidate Profile:

8+ years' experience in dry fertilizers trading within a trading house, producer, or merchant
Demonstrated experience in building or scaling a trading desk / portfolio
Strong, verifiable PnL track record across multiple market cycles
Deep understanding of global dry fertilizers markets, trade flows, and pricing dynamics
Established network of counterparties across key regions (MENA, Europe, Asia, Americas)
Strong commercial mindset with disciplined risk management approach
Entrepreneurial profile, comfortable operating with autonomy in a growth environment
