We are here to help our clients meet these evolving energy needs.This is an exciting time to join us on this journey.Are you ready to bring the right energy to Petrofac and help us deliver a better future for everyone?Job Title: Senior Automation Engineer - CommissioningJob Summary:The Electrical Automation Engineer will be responsible for the implementation, testing, and commissioning of PLC Based electrical automation systems (Power Management Systems) in the oil & gas facilities.Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify requirements and scope of work, review specifications, drawings and other documents of the project and establish applicability to the scope of work.
  • Carry out a detailed assessment of the commissioning work involved and assess the available resources and possible constraints in its execution.
  • Ability to review contractual documents and identify project requirements and constraints / risks.
  • Inspect and ensure all construction related activities are completed prior to taking up the PMS system for commissioning and ensure the setting up of safety mitigation plans for the same.
  • Execute the pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities for the electrical automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues during commissioning & start-up to ensure smooth system operations.
  • Collaborate with EPC Sub-contractors, vendors, and Client teams to ensure timely project activities execution.
  • Ensure all automation systems are installed and configured according to the project specifications.
  • Provide technical support for troubleshooting and maintaining automation systems.
  • Integrate automation systems with client enterprise platforms for real-time data visibility.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Automation Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in automation engineering within the oil & gas industry, with hands-on commissioning and testing experience.
  • Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, ABB, Honeywell), SCADA systems, and industrial communication protocols.
