- Ensure contract compliance, quality control (QC), and quality assurance (QA) for structural aspects of the project.
- Analyse applicable codes, standards, and project contract documents to monitor construction activities and ensure compliance.
- Interpret and clarify contract documents for contractors, resolving any discrepancies or issues.
- Maintain and prepare various records, including daily/weekly progress reports, material accounting records, change orders, and record drawings.
- Supervise, direct, and coordinate the inspection team, conducting weekly meetings with inspectors and the Project Engineer.
- Assist the Senior Discipline Engineer in identifying, responding to, and evaluating technical issues to maintain the project schedule.
- Highlight violations of construction/engineering-related issues on site through the issuance of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Attend progress review and coordination meetings to assist in resolving site issues and liaise with the Design Engineer on modifications if required.
- Participate in snagging and project handover processes, providing expert knowledge and support to ensure smooth project completion.
- Monitor health and safety practices on construction works, reporting issues and stopping work if unsafe practices are observed.
