Responsibilities:Our newest opportunity is for a talented Document Control Manager to join our team on a secondment basis, supporting our client based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
This position is responsible for managing and maintaining established document control systems and ensuring the efficient handling, tracking, and distribution of project documentation across civil construction projects.We envisage success in this role to include;
  • Manage and oversee day-to-day document control activities in line with established procedures and client requirements.
  • Maintain and ensure proper use of the existing document control system (EDMS).
  • Control the full lifecycle of engineering and construction documentation, including receipt, tracking, distribution, filing, and archiving.
  • Ensure all documents comply with company standards and client specifications.
  • Coordinate with project teams, consultants, contractors, and client representatives on document submissions, reviews, and approvals.
  • Maintain accurate document registers, transmittals, and logs for all incoming and outgoing documentation.
  • Monitor document workflows to ensure timely processing and turnaround.
  • Conduct regular checks and audits to ensure adherence to document control procedures.
  • Lead and supervise document control staff, providing guidance and support as required.
  • Prepare regular reports on document status, progress, and key metrics for management and client review.
  • Support project teams during audits and project close-out activities.
Qualifications:To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 12 years work experience partnered with a Bachelor degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related fieldOther requirements:
  • Must have experience in document control within an engineering consultancy environment, specifically supporting civil construction projects. (Experience on large-scale infrastructure projects is highly preferred).
  • Proven experience in a managerial or supervisory document control role.
  • Strong working knowledge of document control systems (e.g., Aconex, SharePoint, or similar EDMS platforms).
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in document management.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to manage large volumes of documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Consideration will be given only to candidates currently located in the UAE who are available for in-person interviews.
