Degree Level: Doctorate DegreeJob Description:Clinical Assistant / Associate Professor in Internal MedicineThe College of Medicine seeks a Clinical Assistant/ Associate Professor in Internal Medicine to contribute to high-quality Clinical teaching, scholarly activity, and academic service. The position focuses on undergraduate clinical education, supervision of students in affiliated teaching hospitals, and active participation in curriculum development and accreditation processes, starting fall 2026-2027.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver clinical teaching in Internal Medicine in alignment with the university standards of Teaching, Research, and Service.
  • Supervise, mentor, and assess medical students during inpatient, outpatient, and specialty rotations in Internal Medicine.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support clinical competence and professionalism.
  • Conduct clinical or educational research and publish outcomes in reputable journals or conferences.
  • Support curriculum integration between Internal Medicine and other basic and clinical sciences.
  • Participate in OSCEs, workplace-based assessments, and accreditation and quality assurance activities.
  • Maintain professional, supportive relationships with students conducive to effective learning.
  • Perform additional academic or clinical duties as assigned by the department.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Basic medical degree (MBBS/MD).
  • Postgraduate qualification or terminal clinical degree in Internal Medicine from a recognized institution.
  • Board certification and eligibility for professional licensure in the UAE.
  • Demonstrated interest and experience in clinical teaching and medical education.
  • Experience with integrated curricula and student-centered learning approaches (e.g., PBL/TBL) is desirable.
  • Proficiency in English and effective use of educational technologies and learning management systems.

  • Dedication to continued professional development and scholarship.
  • Engaging in scholarly work that is of very high quality as evidenced by external peer review.
  • Exhibit strong pedagogic skills and to remain proficient and current in their disciplines.
  • Ability to develop and lead high-quality research.
  • Ability to develop and lead community service efforts of AU.
  • Ability to provide academic advising for students.
  • Ability to work effectively with multiple diverse communities.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
