- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project requirements and organizational objectives.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand construction and civil engineering specifications, ensuring procurement plans meet technical and quality standards.
- Supplier Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain.
- Contract Negotiation:
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment terms.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
- Cost Analysis and Budgeting:
- Conduct thorough cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop and manage procurement budgets, monitoring expenses against approved budgets.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks in the procurement process and develop mitigation strategies.
- Stay abreast of market trends, pricing fluctuations, and regulatory changes to proactively manage procurement risks.
- Quality Assurance:
- Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that procured materials and services meet required standards and specifications.
- Implement and maintain quality assurance processes within the procurement function.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier performance evaluations.
- Generate regular reports on procurement metrics, cost savings, and performance indicators.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience of 8 years and above as a Procurement Engineer in the construction industry, with a focus on civil engineering projects.
- In-depth knowledge of construction materials, specifications, and procurement processes.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain management.
- Experience with international procurement and global supply chain management.
- Knowledge of sustainable and environmentally friendly procurement practices.
