Clarksons Trainee Broker Programme offers you the opportunity to:

learn about our business by working alongside experienced industry leading professionals
gain experience, insight and exposure rotating across key shipbroking departmentsi

help form the foundations of your experience within shipping
be part of a global cohort, with peer-to-peer support

What you’ll be doing
During the programme, some of what you may be doing includes the opportunity to:

support the day-to-day activities of the Brokers on the different desks

maintain databases and prepare market information and reports for clients

help to manage internal data flow of key market information

maintain a database of sales activity

undertake administrative tasks such as dealing with emails, assisting with contracts and correspondence

help to field queries and establish/maintain effective relationships internally and externally

maintain accurate records and documentation and assist with producing internal and external reporting

help to conduct post fixture support in a prompt and efficient manner

continue to develop knowledge and expertise

attend meetings and events where required

additional/ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business

You’ll receive

an initial 12-month fixed term contract with a possible further one-year extension
rotational seat placements across different divisions
accelerated development of technical, organisational and professional knowledge/skills
full support system through manager, buddy, and programme manager
cohort connection to other programme participants globally
interaction with global colleagues
assignments and business initiatives

strong numeracy and presentation skills

proficiency in working databases and ability to analyse data
self-starter who seeks opportunities to continually develop, both internally and externally

confident and able to work well under pressure
good MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)
fluency in a 2nd language (desirable but not essential)
