- Working with key business applications like SCADA, Energy Management, Network Management, Unit commitment, Energy & Water Forecasting Systems, Meter Data Management System, Head End System etc.
- Manage and coordinate multiple phases of functional areas within a project and/or multiple small projects of moderate scope and sometimes complex assignments.
- Produce detailed Business Requirement Specification Documents and liaise with all stakeholders to ensure requirements are understood and signed off prior to development commencement.
- Run workshops using proven techniques for eliciting detailed business, functional and non-functional requirements.
- Arrange and conduct meetings, workshops, and presentations for a variety of audiences, demonstrating consistently high-quality communication and influencing skills.
- Where appropriate, analyse alternative solutions and make recommendations.
- Document and map complex business processes and solutions using standard procedures, methods and tools.
- Identify areas for improvement, specify requirements and implement recommendations for increasing the effectiveness of current business processes.
- Provide required support to teams and individuals at client for applications and systems-related issues, working closely with them to troubleshoot software problems and perform root-cause analysis.
- Work closely with software vendors during the design and implementation phases to ensure common understanding, agreement and effective implementation of projects.
- Where appropriate, implement pilot solutions for applications and ensure they are fit for purpose.
- Communicate clearly and concisely to IT and business staff (including senior managers) at all stages of the project lifecycle to gain commitment and minimize resistance to change.
- Support UAT during all phases of testing to ensure that the requirements detailed in the Business Requirement Specification document have been delivered and are ready for release.
- Work with the client Enterprise Technology and Cyber Security team and business teams when new functionality is released to production to ensure a smooth transition.
- Where necessary, devise detailed cutover plans to address potential operational impacts at cutover.
- Identify and support the management of risks associated with Enterprise Applications (in coordination with the Enterprise Risk Management team).
- Maintain a service-focused mindset, seeking to assist teams and individuals as required with applications and system queries and issues as effectively and efficiently as possible.
- Will have Utilities experience in the Transmission or Generation sectors or Water Industry.
