This role is responsible for leading the requirements management framework for a large-scale railway programme, ensuring all business, technical, and functional requirements are clearly defined, validated, and tracked. The Requirements Engineer acts as a central interface between stakeholders, engineering teams, and project leadership to ensure alignment and compliance throughout design and delivery stages.Key Responsibilities
  • Lead requirements management processes across high speed rail infrastructure projects
  • Capture, structure, and manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain full traceability from contract requirements to design and delivery outputs
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, safety, and operations
  • Manage requirements databases using tools such as DOORS or similar platforms
  • Validate and verify requirements to ensure compliance with regulatory and project standards
  • Identify gaps, conflicts, and dependencies in requirements and resolve them proactively
  • Support change management, configuration management, and interface coordination
  • Track compliance metrics and report KPIs to project leadership teams
  • Ensure clear communication of requirements across all stakeholders and disciplines
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with strong technical background
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in rail or large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Proven expertise in requirements management for complex engineering programmes
  • Strong knowledge of systems engineering and requirements lifecycle processes
  • Experience with tools such as IBM DOORS, ComplyPro, or similar systems
  • Familiarity with standards such as EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, and ISO 29148
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly to diverse stakeholders
  • Strong analytical thinking and structured problem-solving approach
