
Legal consultant (interim) - 8+ PQE - Construction & Infrastructure

- Drafting and negotiating numerous construction related contracts (both in FIDIC and bespoke forms) for a wide range of projects (including power, infrastructure, buildings and leisure facilities);
- Drafting and negotiating several O&M and FM contracts; and
- Providing legal services and advising on all areas of construction law including associated areas and matters related to contractors, subcontractors and design professionals.
- A 6 month contract for a non-contentious construction lawyer to join a well-established energy company supporting their legal team with drafting suites of construction related templates for governments, developers and contractors across the GCC.
- A 12 month contract for a construction lawyer to join a local government entity to assist with drafting and negotiating construction contracts (including FIDIC contracts and other non-FIDC construction legal documentation).
- A 3 month contract for a projects and infrastructure lawyer to work within A&O Shearman providing senior front-end construction legal support to the UAE's Energy, Natural resources and Infrastructure practice.
- have a minimum of four years' post-qualification experience at a law firm ranked as top tier for construction, projects and infrastructure work;
- ideally have recent in-house legal experience within an energy, transport or infrastructure company;
- preferably have experience in the Middle East and fluency in Arabic
- have a desire to take ownership of their career and be responsible for their own professional development and network, proactively making use of any support and resources available;
- have researched the personal and financial factors that you need to consider when commencing a career as a legal consultant and be comfortable with the ways in which it differs from permanent employment;
- have a consultant mindset, including a highly professional, flexible and adaptable outlook and approach;
- have a practising certificate (or equivalent) which entitles them to practise as a lawyer in the region.
