- Oversee a specific section of the kitchen, ensuring consistent preparation and presentation of dishes in line with the restaurant’s standards.
- Follow and enforce kitchen recipes, portion control, and plating specifications for all menu items.
- Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene at all workstations according to HACCP and health and safety policies.
- Monitor daily food preparation and support the smooth running of service, assisting colleagues as required.
- Manage stock levels and wastage within your section, ensuring efficient storage and inventory usage.
- Communicate clearly with kitchen colleagues and front-of-house teams to ensure timely and accurate service.
- Train and supervise junior staff, sharing best practices and supporting their skills development.
- Adapt to changing priorities during busy periods and help with other kitchen sections if required.
- Ensure cleaning schedules are upheld and all kitchen areas remain organised and safe at all times.
- Previous experience working as a Chef De Partie, Junior Sous Chef, or similar role in a busy professional kitchen.
- Thorough understanding of kitchen operations, culinary techniques, ingredients, and modern food trends.
- Strong focus on food hygiene, allergen awareness, and safety procedures.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines.
- Keen attention to detail, organisational skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes consistently.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a diverse kitchen team.
