Postdoctoral Fellow

• The person will work on the grant funded by the ministry of education related to the development of Faculty of future. The title of the grant is “Development of patient-derived xenograft model (PDX) biobank, an essential resource for translational research”. • Must be a citizen of the UAE. • Must have a doctoral degree (or equivalent) in a field relevant to the research objectives of the postdoctoral position (related to the biological sciences discipline particularly knowledge of molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, and mice handling is essentially required for the grant (Extra training will be provided during this program). • Must have obtained the doctoral degree no more than 2 years prior to the start date of the postdoctoral position. • The doctoral degree of the candidate must be recognized by the Ministry of Education. • The doctoral degree of the candidate must have been obtained: • From a university among the top 200 universities worldwide in the general ranking (approved by the Ministry of Education) if the university is outside the UAE. • From a university among the top 500 universities worldwide in the general ranking (approved by the Ministry of Education) if the university is inside the UAE. • Must have obtained the required score in one of the language proficiency tests relevant to the language of research and teaching of the postdoctoral position. For English language, the score must not be less than 7.0 in IELTS Academic or 101 in TOEFL iBT. • He/she will have a great level of motivation and be able to work independently as well as in a team setting. Excellent fluency and communication in English will be critical for this position. • Must commit to join the postdoctoral position on a full-time basis for 2 years. If the candidate is currently employed, the candidate must resign their current job or must provide a full-time leave from their employer for the duration of the postdoctoral position. • Must have a strong research record with research interests and experiences closely aligned with the research objectives of the postdoctoral position. • Must provide an updated CV with full record of educational background, experiences including teaching, research with full list of publications, and community/profession services. • Must provide a statement of purpose indicating why they are fit for the postdoctoral position and what are their plans for the future. • Must provide 2 letters of recommendation from individuals who can speak to the applicant's research and teaching abilities and potential, either an academic advisor, research professors, employers or individuals who are familiar with the candidate's work. • Must pass a personal interview with participation from Ministry panel member(s). • Must be of good conduct according to a certificate from the relevant authorities approved in the UAE. • Must be medically fit according to a certificate from the relevant authorities approved in the UAE. • Must provide a certificate of (exemption/postponement/completion) from national service for male applicants. • Must sign a declaration of compliance with the terms and conditions set for the postdoctoral position by the Ministry of Education.
