- Deliver the required music curriculum, ensuring lessons are engaging, accurate, and up to date with subject knowledge
- Plan and implement creative lessons that cater to different learning styles and abilities, including ESL, gifted, and late-entry students
- Teach vocal and instrumental music, music theory, and performance skills to students at varying proficiency levels
- Assess, record, and report on students' academic progress and musical development
- Integrate music technology and media into lessons to enhance learning experiences
- Prepare students for school concerts, recitals, and inter-school competitions
- Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects, event planning, and school productions
- Promote cultural awareness, creativity, and self-discipline through music education
- Communicate regularly with parents to discuss student progress and achievements
- Participate in professional development, school committees, and extracurricular activities
- Bachelor's degree in Music or Music Education
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification
- Minimum 3 years' proven teaching experience in music education
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire creativity in students
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools for music instruction
