Job Description:Civil Design Engineer - Hydraulics (Mid-Level)Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Civil Design Engineer to join our team! In this role you will get to determine methods and solutions for complex engineering problems and selects the most efficient and economical manner in meeting the objectives.What You’ll Be Doing:Independently develops and/or supervises the creation of engineering products that meet customer quality requirements. This includes defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status.Typical products may include detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.Provides support for other engineering activities as required.Provides input to CAD Designer/Drafters working on the same project. The engineer will be required to carry out CAD related tasks while using special 3D software and model creation.May supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance.May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate size project.Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and lower level Engineers working on the same project.The engineer shall be able to independently carry out designs of Wet Utilities distribution systems like potable water, firefighting and irrigation networks, under the guidance of senior engineer. The engineer shall have basic experience and knowledge of preparing and developing hydraulic models for pressure utilities, design reports and use of Bentley WaterCAD / WaterGems / OpenUtilities or related software with support from Senior Engineer.Shall be familiar with load demand calculations for large private developments and/ or large government projects. Shall be conversant with Water / Irrigation / Firefighting Authority regulations such as DEWA, ADDC/ ADWEA / TRANSCO, DM, ADM, DCD, ADCD and other relevant authorities within the gulf region.Shall be aware about the requirements for the hydraulic design for the Pump stations.Shall have basic experience in creating utility cross sections as per requirements of local authorities in the Gulf region like RTA (Dubai), DMT (Abu Dhabi), MOMRA (KSA), etc.Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.Shall support, with suitable guidance from Senior engineers, the preparation of detailed technical, commercial and Life Cycle Cost Analysis of various technical alternatives. Shall be able to support in preparing the presentations for the Clients.What Required Skills You’ll BringBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field) and 8 years of related work experienceMaster's degree would be an advantageEngineer in Training (EIT) Certificate may be requiredProficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is requiredRequires basic engineering knowledge in potable water design or a related field.
