- Ensures the implementation and evaluation of standards for high quality patient care.
- Demonstrates deep knowledge in nursing care of patients undergoing gastro endoscopy.
- Checks all machineries, equipment's, and instruments required prior to procedure, based on patients' procedural needs.
- Plan, implement and evaluate the peri-procedure care given to patients, undergoing endoscopic procedures, is effective and in an organized manner.
- Participates in the development and implementation of unit goals, objectives, protocols, standards, policies and procedures that are consistent with those of the nursing service and the hospital
- Provides orientation to the newly joined staff nurses and conducts assessment at the completion of 15 days, 6months and 1 year.
- Coordinates with the Nursing Administrator in conducting annual competency and skill-based competency checks for all the staff nurses
- Ensures that all relevant paperwork and supporting documentation are completed to the highest standards
- Encourages an economical approach to the utilization of equipment's and supplies while maintaining an appropriate ward stock
- Coordinates with the Nursing Administrator to develop appropriate inventory systems, which are ongoing, preventing shortages or overstocking within the unit
- Coordinates with Nursing Administrator to obtain emergency medications, equipment and supplies, ensuring records are up to date and inventories protected
- Ensures preventative and ongoing maintenance of equipment is carried out, reporting all failures or deficiencies through appropriate department head
- In Coordination with the Nursing Department develops, coordinates and directs orientation/ training programs which are competency based, documented and evaluated
- Responsible for checking of crash carts and emergency equipment's as per hospital policy
- Responsible for appropriate storage and maintaining inventory of Hazmat items including the MSDS as per hospital policy
- Demonstrates deep knowledge and participates in fire safety, patient safety, infection control and the other necessary precautions as per hospital policy
- Assists in the development of unit Policies and Procedures, which involve patient care issues.
- Carries out other duties as instructed by the Nursing Supervisor / Nursing Administrator
- Ensure that 'TIME OUT done for all procedure which is done in Endoscopy department.
- Competent in monitoring of patients during and post sedation.
- Demonstrates optimum knowledge and skill in caring for patients who are recovering from sedation including the use of Aldrete score
- Maintain and update all relevant patient documentation / medical records as per hospital policy and procedure.
- Responsible for proper storage, disinfection and utilization of the endoscopic scopes and its accessories
- Directly supervises and evaluates performance of all nursing staff assigned to the endoscopy unit, providing counseling and disciplinary actions if it is needed.
- Communicates the condition of the patients as well as any event occurring in his/her designated area to the Nursing Supervisor
- To follow appropriate international guidelines, DHA regulations & Joint Commission International norms while treating or managing patients as well as while discharging their professional duties.

- Current license in country of origin and with DHA license to practice in Dubai, U.A.E.
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience after qualification. BLS & ACLS provider.
- Good English spoken & written, Arabic language advantageous/desirable but not essential.
