- Lead and oversee the full technical design process for Enterprise, Colocation, and Hyperscale data centres.
- Define and validate engineering strategies for power, cooling, redundancy, resilience, and system integration.
- Ensure all designs adhere to Tier III/IV or equivalent classification requirements.
- Provide technical reviews, sign-off engineering deliverables, and guide the development of specifications, calculations, and detailed design packages.
- Manage multidisciplinary teams through concept, preliminary, and detailed design stages.
- Oversee tender documentation, contractor design reviews, and technical compliance.
- Support commissioning, FAT/SAT activities, and integrated systems testing to ensure performance and reliability.
- Ensure design standards are met across safety, risk mitigation, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact throughout all project phases.
- Translate client requirements into clear engineering strategies and technical solutions.
- Prepare and present reports, technical notes, assessments, and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Promote best practice in sustainable, low-carbon, and high-efficiency data centre design.
- Drive innovation in cooling technologies, digital design workflows, and modular engineering approaches.
- Ensure consistent engineering quality across deliverables and support internal standards development.
- Provide mentorship and technical direction to junior and intermediate engineers.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, staff development, and internal technical excellence initiatives.
- Support business development through technical input into bids, proposals, and strategic pursuits.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in data centre engineering and design.
- Strong technical background in mechanical or electrical building services for mission-critical environments.
- Expertise in resilience design, power distribution, cooling strategies, and system redundancy.
- Familiarity with Uptime Institute Tier Standards, ASHRAE guidelines, and global best practices.
- Experience managing complex projects and leading cross-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent technical writing, communication, and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
- Chartered Engineer status (CEng, PE, or equivalent) preferred.
- Experience working in a consultancy setting.
- Knowledge of digital engineering tools (BIM, modelling software, etc.).
- Understanding of sustainability frameworks and low-carbon design principles.
