The Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Intensivist is responsible for delivering advanced critical care to neonates, infants, and children with congenital and acquired heart conditions, ensuring optimal outcomes through precise monitoring, intervention, and multidisciplinary coordination.Key Responsibilities
- Manage pre-operative stabilization and post-operative care for pediatric cardiac surgical patients
- Provide critical care for interventional cardiology cases and complex congenital heart diseases
- Treat conditions such as heart failure, arrhythmias, and cardiomyopathies
- Utilize advanced technologies including ECMO, mechanical ventilation, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Lead multidisciplinary ICU rounds and coordinate individualized patient care plans
- Interpret diagnostic data including echocardiography and advanced imaging studies
- Provide on-call support for pediatric cardiac emergencies
- Contribute to clinical protocol development and quality improvement initiatives
- Mentor junior physicians, fellows, and critical care staff
- Communicate effectively with families regarding treatment plans and patient progress
- Participate in research, teaching, and continuous medical education activities
- Medical degree with specialization in Pediatric Critical Care, Pediatric Cardiology, or related field
- Board certification with fellowship in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care
- Minimum 8-10 years of consultant-level experience in pediatric cardiac ICUs
- Strong expertise in ECMO, critical care, and congenital heart disease management
- Eligibility for DOH or UAE licensing authority
- Excellent leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills
- Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage
