- Apprenticeship or on-the-job training
- Certification in refrigerant handling (like EPA certification in some countries)
- Relevant state or local licenses (varies by region)
- Residential homes, office buildings, factories, or construction sites
- Indoor and outdoor work
- May involve working in extreme temperatures or confined spaces
- Often requires travel between job sites
