- Assess the requirements for each examination, load testing, and hydrostatic testing to ensure accurate evaluation of specific equipment.
- Oversee the implementation of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods on various lifting equipment components and machine elements, ensuring accurate recording of test results to confirm safe conditions.
- Attend to lifting equipment and pressure vessel breakdowns and unplanned examination/testing tasks with minimal supervision, conducting repairs within designated timeframes to minimize production downtime.
- Order spare parts and maintain records of the status of all inspected and tested lifting equipment and pressure vessels using the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to support smooth operations.
- Oversee all inspection and testing tasks to ensure compliance with safety procedures and plant operational requirements.
- Assume supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Supervisor/Mechanical Engineer, Inspection Services.
- Lead the Technician, Inspection Services team in conducting inspections, testing, and assessment of lifting equipment and air receivers.
- Monitor and address any repeated breakdowns or problems with lifting equipment and pressure vessels, implementing appropriate modifications or rectifications.
- Provide on-the-job training and skills enhancement for new technicians to ensure competent performance in inspection and testing tasks.
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Structural (Civil), or Electrical Engineering.
- For Engineering Degree holders: a minimum of 2 years' experience working within an engineering discipline related to Lifting Equipment/Accessories.
- For Diploma holders in Engineering: a minimum of 6 years' experience working within an engineering discipline related to Lifting Equipment/Accessories.
- Certified in Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Level II methods, including Penetrant Testing (PT), Magnetic Testing (MT), and Visual Testing (VT) as per ASNT-SNT-TC-1A standard or equivalent.
- Familiarity with inspection/testing procedures, standards, and acceptance criteria for lifting equipment and air receivers.
- Trained in examination/testing of Overhead cranes, Mobile cranes, Forklifts, MEWPs, air receivers, and loose lifting equipment.
