- Teach the Primary Computing Curriculum from Nursery to Year 6, ensuring comprehensive coverage of key computing concepts and skills.
- Collaborate with curriculum leads and Heads of Year to embed technology and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) into short, medium, and long-term curriculum planning.
- Support the integration of technology standards such as the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) across the curriculum.
- Implement future-focused digital learning experiences, integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), coding, robotics, and emerging technologies into the curriculum.
- Ensure that digital learning strategies align with the Academy's HPL's cognitive and values-based learning framework, fostering high-performance thinking skills such as meta-cognition, collaboration and agile learning.
- Assist in the implementation of new hardware and software technologies within the school, supporting Aldar's Digital Transformation Strategy.
- Participate in technology trials to assess and evaluate cutting-edge educational tools for impact on learning.
- Support the school's Innovation Drive Teams, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives under the guidance of the Head of Digital Learning & Innovation.
- Act as a super user for standard software and hardware within the school environment, providing support to staff and students.
- Train and prepare student teams for technology-based competitions, including Formula Ethara, Mubarmij50 Coding and Robotics, First Lego League, and the World Robotic Olympiad.
- Facilitate technology-infused after-school clubs such as 3D printing, coding, robotics, and drone clubs, ensuring students develop hands-on experience.
- Meet regularly with the Head of Digital Learning & Innovation to discuss progress, challenges, and professional development goals.
- Lead technology-focused CPD and INSET training sessions for teachers, ensuring they are up to date with developments in computing.
- Support teachers with instructional best practices in computing and digital integration across subjects.
- Collaborate with the Head of Digital Learning & Innovation to promote e-safety and digital citizenship awareness campaigns.
- Ensure that all students develop responsible digital habits through structured online safety and ethical technology use education.
- Pursue relevant technology-related accreditations, such as Apple Teacher, Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert (MIEE) and more to enhance professional expertise.
- Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Digital Learning & Innovation and Senior Leadership Team, ensuring a proactive role in driving innovation in digital education.
- Bachelor's degree in Education or BSc degree with PGCE or equivalent is essential.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in teaching specialist subject areas of Computing from KS1-2 British Curriculum is essential and KS3 is desirable.
- Experience in teaching additional computing-related subjects or specializations, such as coding, robotics or digital literacy is also desirable.
- Previous experience working with students whom English is not their first language.
- Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
- Proficiency in utilising a wide range of educational technology tools and platforms to enhance teaching and learning experience in primary computing.
- Awareness of current and emerging trends in digital technology within the education sector.
- Strong understanding of pedagogical strategies specifically tailored for integrating technology into the curriculum.
- A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children.
- Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities such as ECAs and Productions.
