- Greet and welcome guests upon arrival in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring that they feel valued and well taken care of. Escort guests to their tables and manage the seating arrangement efficiently.
- Lead and supervise the host/hostess team, providing guidance and ensuring smooth operations. Assign seating duties, manage reservations, and handle guest queries as they arise.
- Oversee and manage reservations, ensuring that guest preferences are noted, and seating arrangements are optimized to maximize efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure a high level of guest satisfaction by monitoring the guest experience throughout their meal, addressing any concerns or special requests promptly and professionally.
- Collaborate with the food and beverage team, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth communication between departments, particularly regarding guest seating, special requests, and dining preferences.
- Ensure the reception area, waiting areas, and host stations are clean, well-organized, and inviting for guests.
- Effectively manage waiting lists during peak times, ensuring guests are informed of wait times and are kept comfortable while waiting.
- Coordinate special seating arrangements for VIPs, large parties, and special events, ensuring a seamless experience for all guests.
- Assist in training and onboarding new host/hostess staff, ensuring they understand company policies, guest service standards, and operational procedures.
- Foster a positive, welcoming, and professional atmosphere at the front of the house, setting the tone for the entire dining experience.
- Proven experience in a front-of-house role, preferably as a hostess or head hostess, within a hotel setting.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team of host/hostess staff.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with guests and staff in a professional and courteous manner.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, especially during busy periods.
- A keen eye for guest service, with a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of customer care and satisfaction.
- Problem-solving abilities to handle guest complaints, seating issues, or other challenges that may arise during service.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, particularly during peak hours.
- Knowledge of restaurant operations and familiarity with reservation systems POS system.
- Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
