Job DescriptionWe are seeking to appoint an outstanding and experienced Head of Secondary to join a high-performing British curriculum school in Dubai. This is a key leadership role for a dynamic and ambitious educator with a proven track record in school improvement, staff leadership and raising student outcomes across Key Stages 3, 4 and Post-16.The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping the strategic direction of the Secondary phase, working closely with the Principal and Senior Leadership Team to deliver excellence in teaching, learning and pastoral care.about the roleAs Head of Secondary, you will have full responsibility for the leadership, organisation and day-to-day management of the Secondary School. You will lead and inspire teaching staff, ensure the highest standards of academic achievement and foster a culture of ambition, accountability and continuous improvement.You will be a visible and influential presence within the school community, building strong relationships with students, staff and parents, while driving forward key priorities within the school improvement plan.key responsibilities
  • Provide strong, visible leadership across the Secondary phase, promoting high expectations and a culture of excellence
  • Lead and manage teaching staff, supporting professional growth and high-quality classroom practice
  • Drive academic outcomes through effective use of data, assessment and targeted intervention
  • Oversee the delivery of a broad and balanced curriculum across KS3, KS4 and Post-16, including IGCSE and A Level
  • Lead on whole-school assessment systems including CAT4, GL, PASS and external benchmarking (TIMSS, PISA, PIRLS)
  • Ensure accurate, timely and impactful reporting to students and parents
  • Work closely with Heads of Department and pastoral leaders to raise standards across all subject areas
  • Contribute to and lead key aspects of the School Improvement Plan and Self Evaluation Form (SEF)
  • Support inspection readiness and lead on key elements of inspection processes
  • Champion a rich co-curricular programme and holistic student development
  • Promote a positive school culture, including behaviour, wellbeing and safeguarding
Skillsthe ideal candidate will have
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a Secondary setting
  • A strong track record of raising attainment and driving school improvement
  • Experience of the British curriculum, with secure knowledge of KS3, GCSE and A Level provision
  • Confidence in using data to inform strategy, intervention and teaching practice
  • Experience in curriculum planning, timetabling and assessment (desirable)
  • Outstanding leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
