- Assist the RE and/or MEP Lead in performing the contractual duties on site.
- Advise the project manager of any technical aspects of the mechanical services that may affect construction progress, quality and the like.
- Interface with the public, especially residents and business owners adjacent to the work to mitigate the construction impacts.
- Oversee and inspect all mechanical work and ensure that installation activities comply with contractual obligations and quality control standards.
- Follow-up with the contractor and support in coordinating with the utility authority regarding connections whenever required.
- Monitor and coordinates all contractors' activities for this discipline.
- Performs works inspection requests and material inspection requests on a daily basis.
- Undertake general project site observation / inspection of the mechanical services works for Contractor's adherence to the approved shop drawings and Consultant's specification, good working practices, the construction schedule and health & safety.
- Provide support in reviewing construction submittals from project inception to close-out.
- Review Contractor's installation method statements.
- Review Contractor's shop drawings against the design [tender] drawings for compliance with the design intent and return to project manager with appropriate comments / approval.
- Review contractor's shop drawing in conjunction with the structural and mechanical engineers to ensure engineering co-ordination and advise project manager accordingly.
- Review Contractor's mechanical services material proposals against specified technical performance requirements and advise the Project Manager on the appropriateness of the proposals.
- Review Contractor's proposed sub-contractor(s) associated with the mechanical engineering works from a technical standpoint.
- Undertake prior review of Contractor's proposed mechanical system testing & commissioning methods and schedule.
- Review and comment on Contractor's testing and commissioning results and advise Project Manager accordingly.
- Collaborate with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.
- Review and interpret discipline design drawings and specifications to ensure current re vision level and correct technical execution of the work.
- Provide resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinate application of solutions to ensure progress on site.
- Undertake final project snagging and prepare list of defects for Contractor's action.
- Attend project, site progress and any mechanical services related technical meetings as directed by the project manager.
- Prepare draft site / engineer's instructions, relating to the building mechanical services, as required and issue to the Project Manager.
- Provide advice to the Project Manager in regard to any mechanical services related variation costs that may be claimed by the Contractor during the course of the works.
- Review and comment upon Contractors Operation and Maintenance manuals.
- Monitor material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline.
- Ensure that materials received meet specifications and established standards of quality.
- Organize the accumulation of assigned discipline data for the final project turnover and report.
- Be available to undertake off-site inspections of proposed equipment and materials as may be deemed necessary by the Project Manager.
- Oversee junior engineers and inspectors for all mechanical work and ensure that installation activities comply with contractual obligations and quality control standards.
- Follow-up with the contractor and support in coordinating with the utility authority regarding connections whenever required.
- Ensure that the project quality control procedures are used for the construction supervision works and monitor it for improvement.
- Initiates and maintains records, back charge procedures, progress reports, etc., as required.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

- Quality Assurance: Plan and coordinate testing and inspection of products and processes. Implement corrective actions or continuous improvement initiatives and monitor them to make sure they are effective.
- Operational Compliance: Identify, within the team, instances of noncompliance with the organization's policies and procedures and/or relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct, reporting these instances and escalating issues as appropriate.
- Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.
