The Inspection Technician is responsible for executing inspection and testing activities on plant equipment to ensure operational safety and reliability. This role contributes to early fault detection, failure prevention, and maintaining asset integrity through structured inspection routines and technical reporting.Key Responsibilities
- Perform non-destructive testing on static equipment and piping during operations and shutdowns
- Apply inspection techniques such as ultrasonic testing, dye penetrant, and magnetic particle testing
- Interpret inspection results and support radiographic testing analysis
- Assist inspection engineers in selecting appropriate inspection tools and techniques
- Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams to schedule inspection activities
- Collect samples for corrosion analysis and failure investigations
- Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment failures
- Conduct inspection of incoming materials and perform PMI testing when required
- Witness testing of safety valves, lifting equipment, and hoses as part of quality checks
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental procedures during all inspection activities
- Prepare and issue inspection reports including GIR and IWS documentation
- Maintain inspection data using SAP QM systems, spreadsheets, and technical drawings
- Record NDT and quality inspection data in an organized and retrievable format
- Highlight risks, potential failures, and abnormal findings to inspection engineers
- Support updating inspection standards and procedures based on findings
- Diploma in Technical Discipline or Bachelor Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- Minimum 6 years experience for diploma holders or 2 plus years for engineering graduates in inspection roles
- Hands-on experience in NDT techniques and petrochemical plant inspection
- Familiarity with inspection standards for pressure vessels, piping, boilers, and tanks
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and inspection documentation
- Fluency in English with strong written reporting skills
- High attention to detail and structured working approach

- Inspection of pressure vessels, piping, and industrial equipment
- SAP QM and technical reporting systems
- Corrosion analysis and failure investigation
