- Assist in the preparation and production of pastries, desserts, and bakery items according to recipes and standards.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and quality across all pastry products.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the pastry section in compliance with HACCP and food safety standards.
- Assist in inventory control, stock rotation, and minimizing food wastage.
- Work closely with the Pastry Chef and team to contribute ideas for new menu items and seasonal specials.
- Ensure equipment and utensils are properly handled and maintained.
- Support colleagues and maintain a positive and professional kitchen environment.
- Completion of a degree or certificate in culinary arts
- Previous experience as Commis I / Commis II in pastry (hotel or upscale bakery experience preferred).
- Strong knowledge of basic pastry techniques, baking methods, and dessert preparation.
- Creativity and passion for pastry arts.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
- Team player with strong communication and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
