Job DescriptionTo Conduct Treasury, Investment & Finance Sharia Audit by carrying out Sharia audit engagements in the Treasury, Investment & Finance functions in accordance with the GISA audit methodology in a manner that will accomplish GISA’s objectives and fulfils the purpose and responsibilities.Manage the Treasury, Investment & Finance Sharia Audit and guide subordinating Sharia Auditor(s).Review the Annual Sharia Audit Plan for the Treasury, Investment & Finance functions and prioritize the Sharia audit assignments based on Sharia risk assessment, and scheduling of follow-up activities in an effective and efficient manner.Ensure the approved sharia Audit plan is implemented in coordination with GIA.Prepare GISA staffing plans and financial budgets, including the number of auditors and the knowledge, skills and disciplines required to achieve the approved plan.Ensure the degree of Sharia risk and its impact is identified and evaluated for each Sharia Audit assignment.Ensure that subordinates keep abreast of professional developments and monitors professional development programs for assigned employees.Ensure the ISSC resolutions are communicated to the auditee department in a timely manner and implemented through regular follow-ups.Ensure that Sharia breaches and corrective measures are clarified to the audited department to reduce/avoid the future breaches.Review the Sharia audit draft reports and discuss the same with Head of GISA.Ensure the Sharia observations are discussed with the concerned departments/branches and their responses are included in the Sharia audit report.Finalize the Sharia audit report for submission to Head of GISA.Ensure smooth flow of Sharia audit of specific products by developing specific sharia audit guides/checklist.Ensure the approved Sharia risk rating methodology is implemented during the audit.Perform additional tasks given by the Head of GISA as and when required.All the above accountabilities include, but not limited to any additional/new tasks or responsibilities assigned by the line Manager.Competencies/SkillsEducationMinimum Bachelor’s Degree in economics, accounting, banking or finance with knowledge in Sharia or Bachelor’s Degree in Sharia with knowledge in accounting or finance.Professional Certificate (CSAA. equivalent qualification is an added advantage).Work ExperienceMinimum 6 years of Sharia audit experience.
