The Consultant Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon is responsible for providing expert surgical care for infants, children, and adolescents with congenital and acquired heart conditions, ensuring optimal outcomes through advanced procedures and multidisciplinary collaboration.Key Responsibilities
- Perform complex pediatric cardiac surgeries including open-heart procedures and congenital defect corrections
- Provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care including ICU management and follow-up
- Collaborate with pediatric cardiologists, anesthesiologists, and intensivists for coordinated care
- Participate in on-call duties and emergency surgical interventions
- Supervise and mentor junior doctors, residents, and fellows
- Contribute to clinical audits, research, and quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate and compliant medical documentation
- Medical degree with specialization in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Fellowship in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery from a recognized institution
- Board certification such as FRCS, American Board, or equivalent
- Minimum 5-10 years of post-fellowship experience
- Proven expertise in pediatric cardiac surgical procedures
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Experience in high-volume or tertiary healthcare centers preferred
- Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage
