- Conduct cost planning, estimation, and analysis for marine construction projects, ensuring competitive and accurate budgeting.
- Measure and value the work done on site, liaising with project managers and site engineers to ensure project costs are aligned with budgets.
- Prepare, negotiate, and analyze costs for tenders and contracts.
- Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes, working closely with legal teams as required.
- Assess and recommend payment to contractors, ensuring compliance with contract terms and project specifications.
- Monitor project expenses, implementing cost control measures to keep expenditure within the budget.
- Collaborate with engineers and architects to ensure project feasibility and cost-efficiency from the outset.
- Prepare detailed project reports, highlighting variances from the budget and recommending corrective actions.
- Stay updated with the latest trends, regulations, and technologies in marine construction and cost management.
- Bachelors degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with at least 8 years in marine construction or related projects.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and project management principles specific to marine environments.
- Proficient in cost management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Professional accreditation (e.g., MRICS) is considered an asset.
- Willingness to travel to various project sites as required.
