Our Ports and Maritime Engineers help our clients to maximise their operational efficiencies, create jobs and provide an unprecedented mix of products and services across the GCC region.We’re seeking a Project Manager – Bulk Materials Handling Specialist, who wants to deliver challenging projects that really make a difference. You will join an established and thriving Ports & Maritime practice and will work on port projects of all types such as new port developments, container terminals, general cargo terminals, dry bulk terminals, liquid bulk terminals, dry ports, shipyards and cruise terminals.Based in the UAE, Jacobs’ operational hub within the GCC, as Project Manager – Bulk Materials Handling Specialist, you will have extensive experience in dry bulk projects, including terminal master planning, supply chain logistics, engineering design and material handling equipment specifications. You’ll have an opportunity to work as part of an integrated and forward-thinking team and we will ask you to advance innovation and collaboration with the Solutions & Technology function. As a key member of our growing Ports and Maritime practice you will be an integral part of our plan to continue expanding our business and help continue to make Jacobs, the industry-leader in the Ports and Maritime sector. In addition, your duties will be to:
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with colleagues and clients.
- Experience working with a broad range of project types (in particular dry bulk terminals) and sizes with diverse private and public sector clients.
- Manage the successful delivery contract documents, design basis, technical specifications, and other client deliverables.
- Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams across our client sectors, practices, and offices.
- Assist in the development of technical approaches and fees for proposals and help grow our portfolio of maritime projects in the region.
As a successful candidate you will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering. You will also possess: –
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the delivery and management of maritime projects, preferably within the GCC region.
- Candidates possessing knowledge of local clients, or other private and public clients involved with maritime projects are preferred but not required.
- Strong and effective written, oral and presentation skills.
- Able to complete tasks independently.
- Adept at interpersonal relationship building and conflict resolution.
