It helps our customers to thrive, communities to progress and supports sustainable development.Join our Smart Infrastructure Grid Software Business Unit as the Power System Consultant and help us re-imagine the world by finding solutions and making the world a smarter place for tomorrow.You'll make an impact by:In this role you will work as a Project Execution Engineer for Siemens PTI business in the Middle East and will be based in Abu Dhabi. While executing the projects for local market, you will also actively support the PTI business growth and execution through interaction with different regions in the Middle East.
  • Conduct power system studies involving load flow analysis, short circuit calculations, protection coordination, arc flash and harmonic analysis using PSS SINCAL, ETAP or any other equivalent software
  • Can perform power quality measurements using Fluke or other devices and studies for industries and power utilities.
  • Experience in performing protection coordination studies along with unit protection like motor protection, transformer protection, line protection, CT/VT sizing calculations
  • Solid competency in report writing with proficient interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills
  • Produce high quality reports documenting study findings, results and recommendations.
  • Have basic knowledge about Solar and battery energy storage systems and their interconnection requirements to the grid
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently within project execution timeline with good technical quality and customer satisfaction
  • Familiarized with various standards, codes, regulations and practices as recommended by IEC, IEEE, ANSI, NEC etc for electrical installations, low and medium voltage networks design including earthing and grounding systems, protection systems
  • Ensure at all times that the QA procedures, statutory, regulatory and EHS requirements are being followed.
Your success is grounded in
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a renowned University.
  • 06-07 years of professional work experience specifically in the field of power system planning, services, design and consultancy. Experience with a consultancy firm will be preferred
  • Good communication and writing skills, problem solving abilities
  • Hands on experience of network planning software like PSS®SINCAL, PSSE, ETAP, SIMARIS design, PowerFactory. Experience of working on Siemens software tools especially PSS®SINCAL will be preferred
  • Flexibility to travel
  • Experience of working in multi-cultural organization
  • Python, Fortran and other programming skills specially related to PSSE and SINCAL software
  • Analytical mind with strong planning and self-learning skills, result and target oriented
