Port Captain Heavy Lift Operations - DP World - Dubai, UAE

• Plan, coordinate and supervise load-out, securing and vessel departure activities for heavy lift and project cargo operations
• Chair pre-job meetings and toolbox talks to confirm permits, lifting plans, weather windows and berth readiness
• Verify vessel stability, ballast plans, deck condition and availability of certified lashing and cargo gear
• Direct stevedores, riggers, surveyors and vendors to achieve schedule, quality and safety objectives
• Oversee ballasting and deballasting operations to maintain stability within approved limits
• Review and endorse stowage plans, lifting plans, grillage and sea-fastening drawings and load calculations
• Validate method statements, risk assessments, mooring plans and sea-passage securing arrangements
• Reconcile cargo data including weight, dimensions and center of gravity with survey documentation
• Lead incident reporting, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
• Serve as primary on-site liaison with clients, marine warranty surveyors, port authorities and pilots
• Prepare daily logs, as-stowed drawings, photographic documentation and completion reports
• Monitor critical path activities, manage risks and verify vendor invoices related to port services

• 5 to 10 years of experience in heavy lift or project cargo roles such as Port Captain, Supercargo or Cargo Supervisor
• Strong background supervising load-out and sea-fastening on deck carriers, multipurpose vessels or barges
• In-depth knowledge of vessel stability, lashing standards and lifting operations
• Familiarity with port regulations and maritime compliance requirements
• Proven leadership in high-pressure berth and yard environments
• Strong documentation control and reporting capabilities
• Willingness to travel regionally and internationally for project operations
