The Consultant Gastroenterologist is responsible for providing specialized care for patients with digestive system disorders, ensuring accurate diagnosis, advanced procedural treatment, and continuous management of both acute and chronic conditions.Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage gastrointestinal conditions including inflammatory bowel disease, liver disorders, GERD, and functional bowel conditions
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as colonoscopy, gastroscopy, and ERCP
- Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient consultations and follow-up care
- Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions and clinical meetings
- Supervise and mentor junior doctors and support training programs
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in line with healthcare standards
- Participate in on-call duties and manage emergency gastrointestinal cases
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and continuing medical education activities
- Medical degree with specialization in Gastroenterology
- Board certification in Gastroenterology from a recognized authority
- Minimum 3-5 years of post-specialization experience
- Strong expertise in advanced endoscopic procedures and diagnostics
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Eligibility for relevant licensing authority
- Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage
