- Develop and maintain a comprehensive business continuity plan for the healthcare organization, including emergency response procedures, crisis management plans, and disaster recovery plans.
- Demonstrate leadership in the development, implementation and maintenance of an appropriate BCMS.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the business continuity plan and make recommendations for improvement based on best practices and industry standards.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all business continuity-related issues and provide guidance and direction to cross-functional teams during emergency situations.
- Ensure effective two-way communication between assets, senior management, DOH/DHA and NCEMA.
- Provide advice to all staff regarding BCM activities and updates.
- Support and provide guidance in BC to identify and evaluate impacts and risks.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices in business continuity planning.
- Coordinate and conduct regular business continuity testing and exercises to ensure that the plan is effective and up-to-date.
- Identifying any corrective actions plans and monitor closure of open action plans.
- The undertaking of Orientation and Mandatory training in relation to BCM topics.
- Assisting with the coordination of the BC preparedness program, ensuring that staff is competent with equipment and procedures.
- Acting as a resource for BCM and raising awareness among asset BC Leads and staff members.
- Collaborating with other departments to identify and reduce safety risks for staff, residents, and visitors.
- Participating in and providing guidance for BCM, Crisis Management and Disaster Management improvement projects.
- Investigating BCM, CM and DR incidents and near misses to determine the root causes, trends, and adequacy of precautions and training.
- Recommending revision of current training programs, development of new training programs and process redesign or new equipment to lessen accidents, incidents, and injuries.
- Performing other applicable tasks and duties as assigned.
- Participating in BC Audits required and assisting with completion of the recommended corrective actions.
- Performing both scheduled and unscheduled audits to identify opportunities for improvement, distributing reports and completing the follow-up to ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Facilitation of 3rd Party Compliance Audits within the organization in relation to BCM aspects.
- Development and maintenance of the applicable registers and programs in accordance with BCM requirements (Risk Register, Legal Register etc.)
- Undertake scheduled Inspections in conjunction with Senior Management.
- Identifying areas for BCM, CM and DR improvement.
- Assisting in the maintenance and revision of BC response and recovery plans and procedure.
- Investigating and thorough follow up, assisting all departments with corrective actions where identified.
- Assisting departments to develop department specific action plans.
- Communicates effectively with team members and maintains good inter-functional liaison to ensure smooth implementation of operational activities.
- Communicates applicable regulatory requirements in a timely and clear manner within the division.
- Typical physical demands may include a high degree of manual dexterity to sufficiently perform computer functions, produce materials on a PC, operate basic office equipment, operate audiovisual equipment, physically move/lift/carry relevant equipment/materials, visit multiple facilities/ assets across the M42 network, and stand/present in front of a group of people during the employee’s work day.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or Associate Disaster Recovery Planner accreditation.
- ISO 22301 Lead Auditor or Lead Implementer certification, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS).
- Master's degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in business continuity planning or emergency management.
- BC experience in a healthcare setting.
- knowledge of ISO 27001 (Information Security Management) and ISO 31000 (Risk Management) would be advantageous, reflecting a comprehensive approach to business continuity and risk management within a healthcare setting.
- Strong project management skills and experience in leading cross-functional teams.
Ability to work under time constraints and manage complexity is a requirement. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Analytical and problem-solving skills. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.

- Certification in business continuity planning, emergency management, or related field.
