The Consultant Gastroenterologist Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive care for patients with digestive system disorders, ensuring accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and long-term management.Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage gastrointestinal conditions including IBD, liver disease, GERD, and functional disorders
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures such as colonoscopy, gastroscopy, and ERCP
- Provide inpatient and outpatient consultations and follow-up care
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and clinical case discussions
- Supervise junior medical staff and contribute to training programs
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with healthcare standards
- Participate in on-call duties and emergency response for GI cases
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives and continuous medical education
- Medical degree with specialization in Gastroenterology
- Board certification from a recognized authority
- Minimum 3-5 years of post-specialization experience
- Strong expertise in advanced endoscopic techniques
- Valid licensing or eligibility with relevant healthcare authority
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
- Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage
