- Manage multi-product and cross-asset class risk. Deliver macro views, seek arbitrage and relative value opportunities alongside directional and strategic positioning to meet and surpass set budget. A global view across multiple products and asset classes to find value creating opportunities is essential to creating a diversified strategy. Enhance the FX&Rates desk (and Global Markets) in a wholistic manner for example, expanding product offerings, systematic and procedural improvements, mentoring/training of junior staff members.
- Enhance the GM business by:
- Produce market commentary where required;
- Provide pricing to facilitate customer business if needed;
- Accompany sales on customer visits, be available for customer calls.
- Specific Accountability:
- Responsible for adhering to assigned risk and stop loss limits;
- Well developed risk management techniques are essential;
- Focus on minimising draw-downs with sound capital management practices;
- Responsible for meeting financial and business objectives set by the Head of FX & Rates Products;
- Ensure compliance with all appropriate limits including counterparty limits;
- Identify and analyze new product and currency opportunities;
- Ensure swift and consistent pricing to all internal and external customers;
- Expand counterparty awareness of our capabilities to attract new flows and limits;
- Ensure learning framework in place for team members to develop with appropriate teaching schedule and courses;
- Ensure new and existing curves, frameworks, systems development and processes are fit for purpose and are aligned with market best practise.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce or any related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years experience within financial markets covering risk in related products. Currency base and products are fluid across DM and EM, including knowledge and experience in emerging/frontier markets to enhance value across the business;
- Proven track record on managing risk effectively and delivering consistent financial performance;
- Strong Microsoft office skills including VBA/Macro development - programming language a plus;
- Strong interpersonal skills;
- Strong analytical background;
- Experience with Murex preferred;
- Bloomberg User;
- Self-starter which shows initiative in resolving front office issues across traded products.
