Job Type: Full TimeJob OverviewAs an ICA Engineer, you will lead and deliver control and automation system designs for complex public infrastructure projects. Your role will focus on integrating modern engineering practices with authority standards across a wide range of municipal and industrial applications. From stormwater systems to smart tunnels and SCADA networks, this position offers a technically diverse environment within a global leader in infrastructure engineering.Core Duties
- Design and develop ICA systems including PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS, BMS, and DDC networks for municipal infrastructure
- Prepare control philosophies, loop diagrams, interlocks, P&IDs, functional design specs, and cause-effect matrices
- Select instruments and automation components as per application requirements (e.g., pump stations, STPs, RO plants, tunnels)
- Provide technical oversight on instrumentation layouts, I/O schedules, and cabling plans in coordination with CAD and BIM teams
- Ensure compliance with DEWA, RTA, DCD, and other UAE authority standards
- Participate in technical reviews of shop drawings, materials submittals, and contractor coordination meetings
- Conduct site visits, support HAZOP studies, and troubleshoot control integration during implementation
- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and electrical teams to align automation solutions across disciplines
- Contribute to life cycle cost analysis and prepare technical presentations for client approvals
- Lead design documentation including reports, specifications, and authority submissions
- Mentor junior engineers and guide digital delivery using AutoCAD, Revit, and relevant automation software
- Design network infrastructure for ICT, ELV, security, and control room integration where applicable
- Bachelor\'s degree in Electronics and Instrumentation or Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- Minimum 15 years of experience in ICA system design for water, wastewater, and transportation infrastructure
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA configuration, and instrumentation selection
- Familiar with IEC, ISO, ASHRAE, CIBSE, and other applicable international codes
- Experience coordinating with UAE authorities and securing necessary design approvals
- Expertise in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, and automation software (e.g., Siemens, Schneider, Rockwell, Honeywell)
- Background in designing ELV and fiber optic-based communication networks is preferred
- Dubai Municipality or RTA approval is a plus
- Ability to work independently and manage multidisciplinary design inputs
