The Collections Officer is responsible for following up on assigned customer accounts, ensuring adherence to agreed credit terms, and initiating corrective actions in cases of payment default. The role requires regular customer engagement, coordination with internal teams, and accurate reporting to support effective credit and collection management across ADNOC Group operations.What You'll Do
- Receive and review assigned customer files and collection lists from senior management
- Analyze customer credit facilities and agree on collection strategies with senior stakeholders
- Contact customers through calls and formal visits to discuss outstanding balances
- Explain company credit policies and consequences of delayed or non-payment
- Monitor compliance with agreed credit limits and payment terms
- Initiate immediate corrective actions in case of payment defaults
- Coordinate with customers to resolve missing documentation such as invoices, delivery notes, or credit notes
- Track daily bank statements and identify customer payments for allocation
- Ensure receipts, cheques, and cash payments are correctly processed and allocated
- Manage returned cheques, coordinate with customers, and escalate repeated issues
- Liaise with sales and business unit managers to stay updated on customer profiles
- Identify frequently defaulting customers and recommend action plans
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and aging reports on overdue accounts
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 6 years of experience in debt management and credit recovery
- Experience in a service industry or banking environment preferred
- Regional exposure and retail background considered an advantage
- Valid UAE driving license
- Proficiency in Arabic and English
- Strong negotiation, communication, and public relations skills
- High attention to detail with strong reporting and documentation abilities
