Ensure appropriate materials selection during FEED and EPC project phases to maintain long-term asset integrity and compliance with engineering specifications.
Evaluate and introduce new materials that improve operational performance and reliability while meeting business requirements.
Manage updates to engineering design specifications and ensure contractors have access to the latest approved materials standards.
Evaluate welding technologies and procedures proposed by contractors to determine suitability and potential operational benefits.
Prepare corrosion monitoring plans and coordinate inspection activities with plant operations teams.
Forecast equipment access requirements such as scaffolding, insulation removal, and lifting equipment for inspection programs.
Conduct routine corrosion monitoring inspections on plant equipment and infrastructure according to scheduled maintenance plans.
Prepare inspection reports documenting observations, abnormalities, and technical recommendations.
Perform failure analysis and develop preventive measures for corrosion-related equipment issues.
Prepare material specifications for plant equipment and support project engineering documentation.
Develop welding procedure specifications and welder qualification procedures in accordance with ASME Section IX standards.
Prepare quality plans for engineering projects, plant modifications, and shutdown activities.
Analyze corrosion trends affecting plant installations, piping systems, and cooling water networks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Monitor cathodic protection systems for pipelines and metallic structures and troubleshoot system performance issues.Ideal Profile
Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 6 years of experience in corrosion management and materials engineering within large industrial organizations.
Experience working with plant equipment, pipelines, and industrial systems within the oil and gas industry.
Strong knowledge of corrosion prevention techniques, inspection procedures, and integrity management practices.
Experience preparing welding procedures, welder qualifications, and engineering quality plans.
Familiarity with international engineering codes and standards related to materials and welding technologies.
