
Resident Engineer - O&M Landscape

- Act as the Engineer with delegated authority, directly responsible to the Employer during construction.
- Communicate directly with the Contractor and inspect their operation and maintenance activities.
- Issue orders to correct non-compliant activities, work, materials, and equipment.
- Direct, assist, and monitor the O&M supervision team, including site engineers, work inspectors, and surveyors.
- Provide assistance and advice to the Employer on variations, adjustments, and financial matters.
- Review, approve, and control the baseline schedule of works.
- Recommend Contractor payments, claims, and variation orders to the Employer.
- Advise on contractual and construction matters related to landscape, irrigation, utility diversions, installations, traffic diversions, and related works.
- Review all relevant drawings, proposals, method statements, material submissions, and requests for information.
- Maintain daily diaries and reports by subordinates.
- Supervise, review, monitor, and report on progress of the works.
- Prepare progress reports and measure performed work against planned progress.
- Coordinate activities with other discipline Resident Engineers and Parsons' design Engineers.
- Coordinate with the Contractor on scheduling and resource application.
- Coordinate with Client/PMC, the Contractor, and concerned Authorities.
- Submit reports on site accidents or near misses.
- Convene and chair regular site meetings.
- Ensure prompt exchange of correspondence and approvals.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
- Report back to the Senior Resident Engineer as necessary.
- Participate in contract administration and apply value engineering.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Agriculture Engineering.
- Mandatory Equivalency certificate from the Ministry of Education - UAE.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in landscape infrastructure construction.
- At least 5 years in O&M management, engineering contracts, and value engineering.
- Knowledge of international standards, codes, and ADM regulations.
- Valid Practicing Engineer card issued by the Department of Municipalities and Transport - Abu Dhabi.
- Proficient in IT and computer literate.
- Strong focus on Quality Assurance, Specifications, and Statistical Quality Control.
- Ability to review shop drawings and conduct acceptance/factory tests for compliance with project specifications.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Thorough understanding of contractual relationships.
