This role is responsible for leading credit underwriting and risk assessment for financial institutions and large corporates across the MENAT region. You will also manage credit monitoring, asset quality, IFRS9/ECL processes, and support risk reporting for senior management and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Conduct credit risk assessments for Banks, Countries, NBFCs, MDBs, GFIs, Insurance Firms, Leasing Companies, MNCs, and Sovereign Wealth Funds across the MENAT region.
  • Prepare credit reviews for renewals, enhancements, new‑to‑bank proposals, and amendments.
  • Perform internal risk ratings using financial analysis and qualitative judgment.
  • Monitor excesses, past dues, collateral shortfalls, covenants, and concentration limits.
  • Identify early warning signs, manage stressed exposures, and support Watchlist, staging, and IFRS9/ECL processes.
  • Deliver Risk MIS for regulatory submissions, audits, and Board/Management reporting.
  • Update and maintain credit policies, SOPs, Charters, and Risk Frameworks across multiple regulatory jurisdictions.
  • Lead or support risk automation and process‑improvement initiatives.
Drive high‑impact credit risk underwriting for major MENAT financial entities.Work in a senior role with exposure to Board reporting, policy and automation.
  • 12-15 years of experience in Credit Underwriting within a financial institution.
  • 5-7 years of underwriting experience specifically for Banks, Countries, or GFIs in the MENAT region.
  • Strong credit analysis skills and deep understanding of Country and Bank risk.
  • Knowledge of IFRS9, ECL, and risk management frameworks.
  • Strong financial statement analysis and understanding of banking products.
  • Excellent time management, teamwork, and MS Office skills.
  • Experience with systems such as Finacle, Kepler, CRISIL ICON, Bloomberg, and external rating data.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting; MBA or CFA preferred.
