This is a highly hands-on programming role, working directly with investment professionals across private and public markets. The successful candidate will design and implement data solutions, automate spreadsheets and workflows, and build databases that connect to multiple data sources. Unlike traditional asset management environments, this team places a strong emphasis on in-house tool development, so the role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical coding and problem-solving. This is a lean, entrepreneurial setup, so the candidate must be comfortable working independently, learning quickly, and taking initiative. The firm is open to training the right person on the finance side, provided they bring strong programming fundamentals and an interest in financial markets. What the job involves
Build and maintain internal tools for investment and data workflows
Automate spreadsheets, reports, and repetitive processes
Design and manage databases linking multiple data sources
Support both private and public market investment teams
Work closely with investment professionals to translate requirements into technical solutions
Continuously improve and streamline data processes and systems
Who we are looking for
Some exposure to financial markets, investment banking, or hedge funds
Strong programming skills, with experience in Python, SQL, Java, and R
Experience building data tools, automations, or internal systems
Ability to work independently in a small, high-impact team
Dynamic, curious, and eager to learn
Comes from an investment bank, hedge fund, or similar financial environment
Has built in-house tools or data infrastructure
Technically strong but open to developing deeper financial knowledge
Motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working without a large team structure
