The Specialist Rheumatologist is responsible for providing advanced clinical care in an outpatient setting, managing chronic and complex rheumatological conditions. The role contributes to improved patient outcomes through evidence-based treatment, multidisciplinary collaboration, and continuous clinical improvement.Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and manage rheumatological conditions including inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue disorders, and osteoporosis
  • Conduct comprehensive outpatient consultations and develop long-term treatment plans
  • Prescribe and monitor medications including disease-modifying therapies and biologics
  • Perform joint examinations and outpatient procedures such as injections when required
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory and imaging investigations
  • Educate patients on treatment plans, medication use, and lifestyle modifications
  • Maintain accurate and compliant medical records in line with clinical standards
  • Collaborate with physiotherapy, orthopaedics, and primary care teams for integrated care
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality initiatives, and continuous medical education
Ideal Profile
  • DHA licensed or eligible Specialist Rheumatologist
  • Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience at specialist level
  • Strong experience in outpatient clinic settings with high patient volumes
  • Ability to manage chronic conditions and long-term patient follow-up
  • Excellent communication and patient engagement skills
  • Team-oriented with a strong commitment to clinical quality and ethics
