- Lead end to end product design from discovery through delivery, ensuring solutions are grounded in user needs, business objectives and technical realities
- Apply design thinking methodologies to frame problems, explore opportunities, and align stakeholders around clear problem statements and outcomes
- Translate complex financial, regulatory and operational requirements into clear, usable and scalable product experiences
- Contribute to product strategy by identifying experience led opportunities for differentiation, growth and efficiency
- Define experience principles and quality benchmarks that guide teams toward consistent and high impact outcomes
- Own and evolve the design system, ensuring it supports scalability, accessibility, performance and brand consistency across platforms
- Design and govern reusable components, patterns and interaction models across mobile and web products
- Collaborate with engineering to ensure design systems are technically robust, well documented and effectively implemented
- Champion accessibility, localisation and inclusive design standards aligned with regional and global best practices
- Design clear, elegant and functional interfaces across mobile and web platforms, aligned with brand and usability standards
- Use visual hierarchy, typography, colour and layout to support clarity, trust and ease of use in financial contexts
- Apply motion and micro interactions to guide users, communicate state changes and improve comprehension without unnecessary complexity
- Produce high quality design specifications, prototypes and assets that enable accurate and efficient implementation
- Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research to inform design decisions at every stage of the product lifecycle
- Translate research findings, analytics and behavioural insights into actionable design opportunities
- Validate concepts through usability testing, experimentation and iteration
- Partner with product and data teams to measure experience quality and continuously improve outcomes
- Use AI powered tools to accelerate research synthesis, ideation, prototyping and design production where appropriate
- Apply critical judgement when using AI, ensuring outputs meet quality, ethical, security and regulatory standards
- Explore emerging interaction models including conversational, adaptive and predictive experiences within banking contexts
- Contribute to defining best practices for responsible AI use within design workflows
- Create low and high fidelity prototypes to explore ideas, reduce ambiguity and align stakeholders early
- Use prototyping as a thinking tool to simplify complexity and test assumptions
- Iterate quickly while maintaining high standards of usability, accessibility and visual quality
- Work closely with product managers, engineers, compliance, marketing and operations teams to deliver cohesive solutions
- Facilitate design workshops, critiques and walkthroughs to build shared understanding and momentum
- Communicate design rationale clearly, focusing on user value, business impact and risk mitigation
- Partner with marketing and communications to ensure customer facing narratives are clear and consistent
- Maintain clear documentation of design decisions, patterns and workflows
- Proactively identify risks and address them early to support on time, high quality delivery
- Take ownership of complex product areas with accountability for experience quality and outcomes
- Mentor and support junior designers through feedback, guidance and example
- Contribute to building a strong design culture grounded in craft, curiosity and continuous learning
- Act as a role model for collaboration, professionalism and customer centred thinking
- 5–7+ years of experience as a Product Designer working on complex digital products, ideally within financial services, fintech or regulated environments
- Degree in digital design, interaction design, visual communication or equivalent practical experience
- Proven experience designing mobile and web based products at scale
- Strong understanding of banking products, services and customer journeys
- Portfolio demonstrating strategic thinking, problem solving, design craft and measurable impact
- Strong product and design thinking mindset with the ability to frame and solve complex problems
- Expert proficiency in Figma and modern design systems practices
- Advanced experience with prototyping tools and interaction design
- Strong understanding of iOS and Android design guidelines and platform behaviours
- Experience collaborating closely with engineering teams and understanding technical constraints
- Familiarity with AI assisted design tools and workflows
- Data informed approach to decision making and design validation
- Experience building or governing design systems and libraries
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript or Flutter is an advantage
- Confidence in presenting, facilitating workshops and influencing stakeholders
- Ability to balance speed, quality and rigour in a fast-moving environment
- Deep understanding of how design impacts business outcomes, customer trust and operational efficiency
