- Design and optimize the gas turbine systems for life, weight, manufacturability and cost.
- Carry out thermo-mechanical simulations at design, off-design and far off-design conditions to ensure safety and operability.
- Carry out creep, fatigue and fracture assessments
- Carry out vibration and rotodynamic analysis
- Carry out Stress Assessment, Low Cycle Fatigue and High Cycle Fatigue Assessments
- Carry out FMECA (Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis) to support the safety and operability assessments
- Support FEA methodology development activities
- Support other team members, develop junior engineers and provide constructive feedback
- Review the designs, simulations, prepare engineering reports and generate testing guidelines
- Identify project risks and plan for mitigation
- Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering degree or a related field.
- Strong background in gas turbine propulsion, mechanical design, integrity and heat transfer.
- Solid background in Mechanics of Materials
- Experience in whole engine structural analysis, clearance assessments is a plus.
- Experience in bearing performance assessment is a plus.
- Fluent in English
- Experience: 5-15 years or more.
- Technical skills in one or a combination of stated topics.
- Proficient in one of design packages such as Solidworks, Siemens NX or similar.
- Expertise with commercial FEA Software (ANSYS, Hyperworks, Simcenter Nastran etc.)
- Experience in FEA, or lower order simulation methods.
- Experience in programming using C, Matlab/Simulink or similar.
- Awareness on the state-of-the-art technologies in materials, aerodynamics, and structural mechanics to link with structural analysis for gas turbine propulsion
- Good communication and presentation skills to interact with team members, clients, and vendors.
- Ability to solve problems, prioritize tasks and delegate when necessary.
