The Storekeeper plays a crucial role in managing the inventory and supplies of a retail or warehouse environment. This position involves overseeing the storage and distribution of goods, ensuring that stock levels are maintained, and that products are organized efficiently. The Storekeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate records of inventory, facilitating the ordering process, and ensuring that all items are stored in compliance with safety regulations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities: * Manage and oversee the daily operations of the store, ensuring efficient inventory management.
  • Receive, inspect, and record incoming goods, ensuring they meet quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular stock counts to ensure accuracy.
  • Organize and store items in designated locations, optimizing space and accessibility.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for timely ordering and replenishment of stock.
  • Prepare and process shipping and receiving documentation accurately.
  • Implement safety and security measures to protect inventory from damage or theft.
  • Assist in training new staff on inventory management procedures and safety protocols.
  • Resolve discrepancies in inventory records and report any issues to management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized storage area, adhering to health and safety regulations.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Problem-solving skills to address inventory discrepancies.
  • Experience in a similar role within a retail or warehouse environment.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to storage and inventory.
