- Supervise and lead a team of housekeeping staff, including assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and providing ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules to ensure consistent coverage and operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and restrooms to ensure compliance with cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety, health, and safety regulations, particularly in areas adjacent to food service operations.
- Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, inventory usage, equipment maintenance, and staff attendance.
- Prepare detailed reports on housekeeping operations, including performance metrics, incident reports, and recommendations for improvement.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, and equipment; coordinate reordering to prevent shortages.
- Address guest complaints related to cleanliness promptly and professionally, ensuring resolution and follow-up.
- Train new staff on procedures, safety protocols, brand standards, and the use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the housekeeping department.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Front Office, Maintenance, Food & Beverage) to ensure seamless operations and guest experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- 1–3 years of progressive experience in housekeeping or supervisory roles within the hospitality industry.
- Proven experience in team supervision, staff handling, and performance management.
- Strong knowledge of cleanliness, hygiene, and safety measures in hospitality environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and report writing; ability to generate clear, concise, and professional documentation.
- Experience in operational planning, scheduling, and workflow optimization.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and protocols, particularly in areas involving shared spaces or service support.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and maintain attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts as required.
