  • Provide legal advice and strategic guidance to academic and administrative departments across the university
  • Lead and support complex legal assignments independently and in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret a wide range of contracts including research agreements, consultancy contracts, license agreements, sponsorship agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and software and SaaS agreements
  • Advise on regulatory compliance related to education, research, faculty and student affairs, IT, data governance, privacy, and intellectual property
  • Support the university's compliance framework and risk management initiatives
  • Conduct legal research and due diligence on institutional matters
  • Develop practical legal solutions aligned with academic and operational objectives
  • Provide training sessions and guidance on legal developments affecting university operations
  • Support policy development and promote adherence to governance standards
  • Participate in institutional committees and strategic legal projects as assigned
Ideal Profile
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution
  • Law degree from an accredited UK, US, or equivalent law school
  • Qualified to practice law in the UAE, US, UK, or equivalent jurisdiction
  • Minimum five years of legal practice experience within complex organizational environments, preferably in higher education
  • Strong expertise in contract law, regulatory compliance, and institutional governance
  • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear guidance for non-legal stakeholders
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and discretion
  • Strong analytical thinking and independent decision-making capabilities
