Description:The Cornille laboratory in the Division of Science at New York University Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a research assistant. The successful applicant will conduct population epigenomics analyses on plants. The main foci of these analyses will be:
The identification of molecules, genes, and epigenomic features that have evolved adaptively or play a role in the response to stress.
The associated microbiomes involved.
The successful applicant will have the chance to develop an independent research project aligned with the lab's focus on molecular biology and/or evolutionary genomics. Motivated applicants with a background in molecular biology are encouraged to apply.This position is supervised by Dr. Amandine CornilleQualifications:Successful candidates must possess a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Biology. Substantial experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desired:
Conduct techniques in molecular biology by adapting experimental conditions (apply health and safety rules, extract and sequence DNA and RNA).
Execute fundamental statistical analyses, with some skills in bioinformatics analysis being a plus.
Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, as well as demonstrate scientific creativity, are essential.
